Vort-X™ BOP / Wellbore Jetting Tools have been developed as the next step in the evolution of effective wellbore cleaning and debris removal. The unique Vort-X™ BOP / Wellbore Jetting Tool range has been created in conjunction with our field proven Bull Nose Jetting Sub.

 

The Vort-X™ BOP / Wellbore Jetting Tool can be run on its own or combined with our Bull Nose Jetting Sub and creates a fluid vortex which pulls debris out of the BOP Ram cavities and forces it upwards. Due to the unique design of the tool it can be run at much higher flow rates compared to conventional designs allowing an effective cleaning or debris removal operation to be carried out.

 

The additional jetting ports installed in the top of the Vort-X™ Jetting Tool provide increased flow rate, turbulence and creates a vortex to force cuttings back into the flow path so they can be carried upwards towards the surface.

 

To maximise debris removal from the BOP or Wellbore we recommend running the Vort-X™ Jetting Tool with magnets as part of an assembly.

Applications

Blowout preventer cleaning: The tool is specifically designed to create a vortex that pulls mud, cuttings, and other debris out of BOP ram cavities and forces it upwards. This is crucial for ensuring the BOP’s proper operation and preventing damage to seals.

 

Pre-completion wellbore clean-up: Wellbore cleaning is a critical step before completion operations. The Vort-X™ BOP / Wellbore Jetting Tool helps prepare the wellbore by removing debris that could otherwise cause problems during the installation of completion equipment, such as packers or tubing hangers.

 

Post-milling debris removal: After milling operations, such as section milling, metal swarf and other particles can accumulate in the wellbore and BOP cavities. The Vort-X™ tool is used as part of a clean-up string to effectively dislodge and recover this debris.

 

Riser cleaning: With larger outer-diameter sleeves, the tool can be used to clean and jet the marine riser, ensuring optimal cleaning efficiency during offshore operations.

 

Wellhead cleaning: Vort-X™ can be used to clean the wellhead area, removing contaminants that could impede completion and cementing operations.
