Sub-drill is delighted to announce the appointment of Stuart Buchan as the company’s new Business Development Manager (BDM).
Stuart joins the team with over 28 years of extensive experience in the energy sector, spanning Quality, QHSE, operations, and sales leadership. Throughout his career, he has built a proven track record of driving business growth, managing multi-million-pound operations, and fostering deep client relationships across drilling contractors, service companies, and rental firms.

In his new role, Stuart will leverage this deep operational knowledge and commercial acumen to expand Sub-drill’s market presence and deliver tailored solutions to clients. Commercial Director Jim Inglis expressed strong confidence in the new appointment, noting that the impact is already being felt across the organisation.

Beyond his professional achievements, Stuart is a dedicated family man who grounds his busy professional life in his personal passions. His two children, Nicole (22) and Jude (15), are at the heart of everything he does.
An avid golfer, Stuart spends most of his weekends on the fairways at Hazlehead Golf Club or on the sidelines supporting his son’s football team, Westdyke. He and his family are also passionate music fans, frequently travelling across Scotland to support local live music and watch their favourite bands perform.
Stuart’s blend of deep technical expertise and strong interpersonal values positions him to be a core driver of Sub-drill’s strategic growth in the years ahead.
